Lauren holds an Equine-facilitated Learning certificate from The HERD Institute and for the past 10 years has been a steward of horses at Egret Paradise. Her greatest influence is with Carolyn Resnick Liberty Horsemanship’s herd behavior & connection teachings. In 2023, she was selected as an Education finalist for Wilma Magazine’s Women to Watch.

George Jeffrey Lee & Dr. Cindy Bowers-Lee bought the property in 2004 and had the dream of turning it into a natural setting for their horses. Their home is a hidden gem in south Wilmington. We ask anyone visiting to please honor the wildlife and nature. Egret Paradise visits are by private appointment only.

Colonel Mac is a 22 yo Quarter Horse. He is a wise soul and is a strong lead horse. He loves to be scratched and take walks around the farm. He teaches respect, focus & companionship.

Annie is a sweet & senstive 21 yo Paint pony. She likes to be groomed, taken for hand-walks and doing liberty exercises. Annie helps people work on trust, awareness, and connection.

Spirit came here as a rescue request from Penderosa Rescue & Sanctuary. He is an 8 yo Kentucky Mountain Horse cross and has a wild personality. Spirit teaches about magnetic connection.

Jack is a 24 yo Quarter Horse owned by Tina Sandlin. He has a shy and animated personality. Jack is great to hand-walk, greet, and give treats to. He teaches trust and focus.

Destiny was Cindy’s horse and lived his last 15 years at the farm. Lauren was his caretaker the last couple years of his life and he made a forever impression. He lived to be an astounding 40 years-old and passed away naturally on Thanksgiving Day 2019. He is one of the main inspirations of our offerings.
